Every month is parasailing season
We fly year-round. Departures leave every hour from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and the only thing that keeps the boat at the dock is weather: if wind or sea conditions aren’t right, the captain cancels and you can reschedule or get a full refund.
Earlier is almost always better
Mornings are usually calmest; the wind tends to build in the afternoon. Calm water makes for a smoother boat ride and a steadier flight, and it gives the captain the most room to fly every weight and pairing in your group. If you have a choice, book one of the first departures of the day.
What “June Gloom” means for the view
In late spring and early summer, Long Beach mornings often start under a low marine layer — locals call it May Gray and June Gloom — that usually burns off toward midday. It can soften the view of the skyline and the coast. If the view is the priority, keep an eye on the forecast; if calm water is, go early anyway.
Late summer and fall tend to bring clearer mornings. Winter days can be crisp and clear between storms, with fewer crowds along the waterfront.
How far ahead to book
Each boat carries up to 12 guests, so weekends and holidays can fill up. If your date is fixed — a summer weekend, a holiday, a birthday or a group trip — reserve before you go. Planning a group? A private charter reserves the whole boat.
