Private charters for groups and events

The whole boat, just for your group. A private charter puts up to 12 of your people over Long Beach Harbor, and it’s an outing nobody forgets.

What a private charter includes

  • The whole boat for your group: up to 12 guests, no strangers aboard.
  • 800-foot flights over Rainbow Harbor, with the Queen Mary, the downtown skyline and the open Pacific all around.
  • 1–3 people fly at a time, so friends and coworkers can go up together.
  • Dry takeoffs and landings from the boat deck. No experience is needed.
  • USCG-licensed captains and a crew who handle everything from the safety briefing to the landing.
  • Non-flyers are welcome. Anyone who would rather stay on deck rides along. The charter price covers everyone aboard, flying or not.

Simple, all-in pricing

A private charter is $950 for the whole boat, plus a 6% booking fee ($1,007 in total). With a full group of 12, that’s about $84 per person, and $190 less than booking twelve individual flights. One booking, one payment and one receipt make it easy to expense. The digital photo package ($40) can be added so everyone takes the shots home.

Great for

  • Team-building and company outings: a shared adrenaline rush beats another escape room.
  • Client entertainment and incentive trips: a memorable treat for visiting clients or top performers.
  • Birthdays and milestone celebrations.
  • Bachelor and bachelorette parties.
  • Family reunions and visiting relatives. Kids 5 and up can fly, and there’s no maximum age.
  • Proposals: ask the question with the whole coastline as the backdrop.

Planning the day

Departures leave every hour from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, year-round. Plan on up to an hour, depending on how many passengers are aboard. Mornings are usually calmest; the wind tends to build in the afternoon. So an early departure is the best bet for groups.

Everyone meets at Rainbow Harbor in Shoreline Village, 401 E. Shoreline Village Dr, right in front of Yard House. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow plenty of time for check-in. Paid public parking is available in the Shoreline Village lots; allow extra time on weekends.

Every guest signs a waiver before boarding. The link arrives by text and email when you book, so it’s easy to forward to the group. Solo flyers need to weigh at least 175 lb, and two or three flying together need 175–500 lb combined. The crew pairs people on the day, and our weight and age guide has the details.

Make it a full event

Shoreline Village is steps from the dock, with waterfront restaurants for a team lunch or celebration dinner before or after the flight. The Aquarium of the Pacific, the Queen Mary and the harbor walk are all close by. See our guide to the neighborhood for ideas.

Quick answers

Questions we hear on the boat

How many people fit on a private charter?

Up to 12 guests. Everyone can fly, or some can ride along on the boat and cheer. The price is the same either way.

How much is a private charter?

$950 for the whole boat, plus a 6% booking fee ($1,007 in total). With a full boat of 12, that works out to about $84 per person.

What if our group is bigger than 12?

Book back-to-back charters so the whole group flies in two waves, or call us at (562) 358-5985 and we’ll help plan it.

What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

The captain decides on the day, based on wind and sea conditions. If weather or the captain cancels your flight, you can reschedule or get a full refund.

Do guests need to sign anything?

Sign the waiver online before check-in - the link is texted and emailed when you book. Parents or guardians sign for anyone under 18, and the office staff can help at check-in. No one boards without a signed waiver.
